New Mexico Legal Aid (NMLA) has received funding from the Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS) and a contract with New Mexico Veterans Integration Centers pursuant to a Supportive Services for Veteran Families federal grant with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  “We owe it to our veterans to honor their service and sacrifice by helping connect them with the legal services they need,” said DVS Deputy Secretary Alan Martinez.

On April 17 the Volunteer Attorney Program recognized its Volunteers of the Year at a reception hosted by the Second Judicial District Pro Bono Committee.

The award winners include Kate Worthington (Pro Bono Law Student of the Year), Fred C. Martinez (Pro Bono Attorney of the Year), Erin Olson (outgoing VAP Director), and Cheryl Hill (Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year).
